It finds the entries that went to the wrong account .
Misposting Review finds the transactions posted to the wrong nominal account. It groups every customer and supplier, shows you where their entries actually landed, and reclassifies the ones you approve with a balanced journal. The real screens, replayed below, live.
It suggests · you decide · nothing posts without you
It has already read the ledger.
Open the client and Misposting Review is waiting with a list. Not a report to run, not a filter to build. Every customer and supplier whose transactions are scattered across more than one nominal account, grouped and ready to look at.
- ✓Three tabs: Recommended, what it thinks is wrong. Ignored, what you have dismissed. All, the full picture.
- ✓Grouped by the counterparty, because that is how misposting happens: the same name coded two different ways.
- ✓Nothing has been changed. This is a colleague pointing, not a robot posting.
open one. it opens for real.
Nothing here yet.
One supplier. Two homes. That is the flag.
Papercare does not guess from the narration. It looks at behaviour. If the same counterparty has transactions sitting in two different nominal accounts, one of those two is almost certainly wrong. It shows you both sides and the count in each, and the exception is usually obvious the moment you see it: ten in Telephone and two in Bank charges is not a close call.
- ✓It shows the split as a count per account, with the code and the name, so you can go and look.
- ✓The account codes are links. One click and you are in Ledger Analysis with the full account in front of you.
- ✓It gives a reason a partner would accept, not a confidence score.
it explains itself. always.
The same supplier is posted to two nominal accounts in the same file. Three transactions sit in 1222 Sales and three in 1360 Telephone. One of those two is a coding error.
Papercare has surfaced both sides and left the call to you. It has not moved a penny.
Tick what is wrong. All of it, at once.
Every transaction is on the table: date, type, reference, narration, debit, credit, VAT code, VAT amount. Tick the ones that need moving, or take the header checkbox and grab the lot. Then press Reclassify once.
- ✓Bulk by default. Correcting fifteen transactions is the same number of clicks as correcting one.
- ✓You choose the destination account, the journal date and the narration. Papercare does not choose them for you.
- ✓The totals move as you tick, so you can see exactly what you are about to shift.
go on, tick a row.

The journal writes itself. Balanced, obviously.
Reclassification is not a relabelling exercise. It is double entry. Papercare reverses each transaction out of the account it was in and posts it to the account you chose, one journal per transaction, so the trail stays readable months later when somebody asks why.
- ✓Each transaction gets its own journal number. No merged lumps to unpick.
- ✓Debits equal credits. Every time. If they did not, it would not post.
- ✓The journals land in Reclassification Journals, then flow through to the control accounts and the reports.
a reviewer can follow this in ten seconds.

Disagree with it? Press Ignore.
Sometimes a supplier genuinely does belong in two accounts, and you know why and the machine does not. So Ignore is not a footnote, it is a first-class button sitting on every recommendation.
- ✓Ignored items move to the Ignored tab. They are not deleted, and they are not hidden from your reviewer.
- ✓The file therefore records what was considered, not only what was changed. That is a review file, not a black box.
- ✓Changed your mind? Bring it back. Nothing is one-way.
it makes the case. you make the call.
Nothing ignored yet. Press Ignore on one of them.
One correction. It updates everything downstream.
A reclassification made in the working papers is not a note on a spreadsheet. It moves the numbers. The control accounts, the lead schedules and the reports all take the correction the moment you make it, because they are all reading the same ledger.
post once. it lands everywhere.
It never invents a number.
Every figure on this page came from the client's own ledger. Papercare moves numbers between accounts. It does not create them, estimate them or round them to make a story work.
The scroll is the job.
Nobody misses mispostings because they are hard to understand. They miss them because finding them means reading every account line by line. That is the part a machine should be doing.
The file explains itself.
Recommended, ignored, reclassified, journalled. A partner opening the file six months later can see what the AI suggested, what was accepted and what was overruled.
Straight answers.

Bring a real client ledger to the demo. Misposting Review usually has something to say within about a minute, and you can argue with it in front of us.
