We're giving accountants their hours back.
One client file, start to finish. The ledgers come in and validate, the trial balance prepares itself, twelve lead schedules build, the review points get raised, and six AI modules work on that same file — ending in a pack you sign.
Never invents a number
Detection and arithmetic happen in code. The AI's only job is to explain what the code found. Every figure passes a verification gate against your data before it reaches you.
Built inside a live practice
Every feature runs on real UK compliance work inside our own practice before it reaches yours. Real client files, real deadlines. If it breaks, it breaks on us first.
UK only. UK deep.
FRS 102 Section 1A, HMRC, Companies House, UK VAT schemes, s.455, capital allowances. Not a US product with a currency toggle.
Why we exist. And who the real enemy is.
UK practices can't hire.
Good juniors are scarce, expensive, and gone in eighteen months, taking the training you paid for with them. The recruitment problem is not getting better.
So partners become the bottleneck.
Evenings spent doing £25-an-hour work at a £250-an-hour cost, reviewing files that should have been right first time.
Generic AI can't help.
It doesn't know your clients, your ledgers or UK rules. Worse, it makes numbers up with total confidence. You would be the one signing them off.
So we built the colleague you can't recruit.
Not another place to store the file. A team member who does the work: reviews it, questions it, drafts the letter about it, and shows every working.
The enemy was never other software. It's the review bottleneck.
“An AI Accountant is a new member of your team. It works inside your practice, reads your clients' data, reviews files like a senior, drafts client communication, answers UK tax questions, and never invents a number.”
Every figure shows its workings.
No black boxes. You wouldn't accept a figure from a junior without workings, so why accept one from an AI? Here is the architecture, in plain English:
- ✓Code does the detection. Deterministic, testable, boring in the best way. The checks run in code against your actual ledgers.
- ✓The AI only narrates. Its job is to explain what the code found, in the language a good senior would use.
- ✓Every figure is verified. Before any number reaches your screen, it is checked back against the source data. If it isn't in your data, it isn't in the answer.
The fact. The trade debtors control account shows £48,210.55. The aged debtor summary casts to £45,109.32. Difference: £3,101.23.
The driver. Three customer receipts in March were posted directly to nominal 1100 and never allocated: £1,200.00, £950.23 and £951.00.
The question. Shall we allocate all three receipts against the open invoices listed on the schedule?
On your yes, the allocations are drafted for your review. Nothing posts without you.
Everything a good senior does. On your team.
AI Review
Checks the balance sheet and P&L the way a good senior does. The review points are waiting before the partner opens the file. Teach it your own points in plain English.
My Assistant
Ask your practice anything. “What's the gross margin for the year, and what moved it?” It answers from your own data, with the graphs, not from the internet's guesses.
My Tax Expert
VAT to CGT, s.455 to capital allowances. UK tax questions answered like a technical partner would, with the sources it searched shown.
My Email Composer
AI-guided emails for the whole client lifecycle, from records requests to HMRC registrations. A few quick questions and the draft is ready in your firm's voice.
My Intelligence
Upload the documents. It answers strictly from those, and only those. Technical memos, firm policies, client agreements.
Working papers that hold the whole job.
Your AI Accountant works inside a full cloud working papers platform. Import from your bookkeeping software, build the file, reconcile the control accounts, run the checklists, and hand the partner a final pack, with every review point and sign-off in one place.
Explore working papersWhat Papercare will never do.
Every AI company tells you what their product can do. Sceptical accountants deserve the other list too.
and as we go, we'll publish what it can't do yet.
Receipts, not adjectives. That's the deal.
-
✗Invent a figure
If it isn't in your data, it isn't in the answer. Every number is checked against source before you see it.
-
✗Post, file or send anything without you
You review. You approve. Papercare drafts and raises; the sign-off is always yours.
-
✗Train models on your client data
Your ledgers are not our product. UK-hosted, firm-segregated. Your compliance person is welcome to grill us.
-
✗Pretend to be sure when it isn't
Uncertain points arrive flagged as uncertain, with the reason. Confidence is earned figure by figure, not assumed.
Step inside. Break it if you can.
Most AI products show you a video. Ours lets you in. A full demo practice, Demo Company Ltd, with live ledgers and all five modules switched on. Poke at the figures. Ask it awkward questions. Check its workings.

Shrineel Patel FCCA · Founder, Papercare · still doing the work, on purposeI'm Shrineel Patel, FCCA. 15+ years working with UK accountants, the biggest part of them spent alongside some of the UK's top-15 accountancy firms. Today I run an outsourcing company that does the real work for UK practices: VAT, corporation tax, working papers, bookkeeping. Papercare runs on that work, on real client files, before any of it reaches you.
And I didn't build it alone. Papercare is built with my team, the people living this work every day, because we were the bottleneck: rechecking files at 11pm that should have been right first time. Every feature was a real pain in a real job before it was ever a feature.
A working life lived in Excel, timesheets filled every single week. When you account for your hours for a living, you learn exactly what one is worth. That's why Papercare was born. It's the colleague we couldn't hire. Now it can be yours.
