Module 03 · My Tax Expert

Tax answers like a technical partner gives them.

Corporation tax, VAT, capital allowances, self assessment, capital gains, payroll and employment: whatever the client throws at you, My Tax Expert answers it from authoritative UK sources you choose, shows every working and every citation, then turns the answer into a branded client report and a plain-English client email. Below, one real question makes that whole journey, live. Click your way through it.

Step one · The question

Ask it the way the client asked you.

Our running example, real from first ask to final email: a client wants a new £100,000 Tesla through the company. Type it the way it landed in your inbox, then decide where it's allowed to look: GOV.UK, HMRC manuals, legislation, case law. Generic AI searches the whole internet and hopes. This searches what a UK accountant would actually cite.

Step two · The workings

The answer lands with every working shown.

Not a paragraph of vibes. Proper tables: the 100% first-year allowance and the £25,000 corporation tax relief, the 21% benefit-in-kind charge under ITEPA 2003, the running costs, the VAT trap, and the six sources it cited. These are the product's own tables, replayed.

Step three · The what-ifs

Private use? Watch the bill move.

The same answer compared the scenarios a partner would: business use only, private use for a basic-rate employee, private use for a higher-rate one. Click through them and watch the annual benefit tax cost recalculate, with the formula behind every figure.

Employer NI @ 15%no benefit provided£0
ProsNo employee tax and no employer NI charge.
ConsRestricted use; less attractive to employees.

The £25,000 corporation tax relief applies in every scenario.

Step four · The report

Tell it: “make this a report for my client.”

That one instruction turns the answer into a client deliverable: a cover page with your firm's name, a contents page, and whatever sections the question calls for; this run produced eleven. Then it's yours to edit: rewrite any line, add your own note, drop or reorder whole sections, slide table columns left and right. The contents page renumbers itself as you go. Save it, download the PDF, send it.

Step five · The client email

Then it explains it to the client. Simply.

The last ask in the real run: “draft me an email explaining the whole thing easily, not in much depth.” Back came the good news, the costs, the deadline and the bottom line, in words a client actually reads. Copy it, or open it in your inbox. Nothing sends without you.

The ground it covers

It wasn't built for one Tesla.

  • VAT. Schemes, thresholds, partial exemption puzzles, and what the control account is trying to tell you.
  • Corporation tax. s.455 on overdrawn loan accounts, reliefs, and the questions that sit behind the CT600.
  • Capital allowances. What qualifies, at what rate, and what happens on disposal.
  • Self assessment. The client questions that arrive at 4:55pm on a Friday in January.
  • Capital gains. Including the 60-day reporting conversations clients never expect.
  • Payroll and employment. PAYE and NIC questions, with ACAS among the sources for the employment side.
You pick the sources

Citations, not vibes.

Every answer lists the exact pages it searched: GOV.UK, HMRC manuals, legislation, case law. You decide which are in play before it starts, and you can check its workings the way you'd check anyone's.

Chat to client-ready

One thread, three deliverables.

The same conversation produced the workings, a branded report with your firm's name on the cover, and a plain-English client email. No copy-pasting between five different tools.

UK only. UK deep.

Fluent in any tax year.

The Tesla run happened to land in 2026/27, so back came that year's appropriate percentage, FYA window and VED bands. Ask about a different year and it answers with that year's rates, and it volunteers the deadlines, like the 31 March 2027 FYA cut-off above, unprompted.

Fair questions

Raised on every demo.

Tax partnerRates move every Budget. How do I know it's current?
PapercareThe Tesla run above came back with the right rates for its year: the 25% main rate, the 21% appropriate percentage for zero-emission cars, and it flagged the FYA window closing 31 March 2027 without being asked. Ask about any other tax year and it answers with that year's figures. Every answer carries its dates and its sources, so checking it is a two-minute job, not an act of faith.

PapercareThe report arrives stamped DRAFT with your firm's name on the cover, and the email stays a draft until you copy it into your inbox and press send yourself. You stay the reviewer; it does the writing.
